Medical Benefits

Covered expenses are paid differently depending on whether they were received from network or non-network providers. A patient’s out-of-pocket costs are higher when using non-network providers. Learn more.

Prescription Benefits

Through Express Scripts, the country’s largest pharmacy benefits administrator, the Plan allows you to purchase prescription drugs through a nationwide network of retail pharmacy chains and a mail delivery program. Most pharmacy chains will accept your Aetna/Carpenters ID card. Although more costly, prescription drugs can also be purchased from non-participating pharmacies. Learn more

Dental Benefits

Provided by Delta Dental of Washington, the plan’s dental benefits cover routine care you need for good oral health. This includes exams and cleanings, as well as fillings, bridges, root canals, implants, and braces. Benefits are reimbursed up to the amount allowed in the Dental Fee Schedule. Dental benefits are not available under Retiree Coverage. Learn more.

Vision Benefits

Vision benefits are administered by VSP Vision Care. Through its nationwide network of independent optometrists and ophthalmologists, VSP delivers high-quality care while keeping out-of-pocket costs low for patients. Vision benefits are not available under the Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming benefit package. Vision benefits are also not available under Retiree Coverage. Learn more.

Time Loss

If you are disabled because of a non-occupational illness or injury covered under this plan, you may be eligible for time loss benefits. Time Loss Benefits are for active, non-retired participants only. Dependents and retired participants are not eligible. Learn more.

Life Insurance

If a participant or dependent is eligible under this plan and dies from any cause whatsoever, the beneficiary receives a life insurance payment. The amount depends on the whether you are a participant or dependent, and whether you have dollar-bank eligibility or retiree coverage. Eligible participants also receive benefits for accidental death and dismemberment, unless covered under COBRA Coverage. Learn more.
