Filling a Prescription? Show Your Express-Scripts Card

The Carpenters Health and Security Plan offers outstanding discounts on prescription medications through an arrangement with Express Scripts. To be eligible for these discounts, you must show your Express Scripts ID card when purchasing medications at retail pharmacies. Do not use your new Regence-Carpenters ID card... it is only for accessing the medical benefits of the plan.

If for some reason you’re unable to show your Express Scripts ID Card, the pharmacist might be unable to authorize the purchase and may require you to pay full retail price. You must submit a claim form to Express Scripts for reimbursement, but keep in mind the plan rule stating the reimbursement amount will be limited to the wholesale price less the appropriate copayment.

Do you know the exact whereabouts of your Express-Scripts card? If not, Carpenters Trusts will be glad to order new cards for you. Just give us a call at (800) 552-0635 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. If you’re DIY, you can download your card at express-scripts.com or use the Express Scripts app (Apple/Android).

Remember, participants, retirees and dependents can purchase medications at even greater savings through the Express Scripts by Mail program. With the app, you’re able to refill a prescription with just two clicks. The app can track the status of your order in real time, from placement to processing to shipping. Once the order leaves an Express Scripts facility, a tracking number helps you follow the carrier’s progress to your mailbox.

Are you an Oregon-SW Washington participant or retiree with Kaiser coverage? If so, your prescription benefits are still provided by Kaiser. Therefore, the Express Scripts programs mentioned above do not apply. Please contact Carpenters Trusts of Western Washington for more information.
