Retiree Eligibility and Enrollment
Summary
This section describes the eligibility requirements for you (the retiree) and how you enroll in Retiree Coverage. This section also describes important eligibility issues including special enrollment rights and termination of coverage.
For Oregon retirees who were eligible in the Oregon-SW Washington Carpenters Plan prior to September 1, 2021, you are automatically eligible for the plan coverage provided in this plan, including dental and vision if previously elected. Coverage for Medicare will also be available when you become eligible for Medicare.

plan Changes
Medicare Retirees: Retiree Coverage for Medicare-eligible participants and dependents will expire 8/31/2024. This includes medical coverage, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, and dental and vision if selected. Premium subsidies and Retiree Health Reimbursement Account balances also will expire 8/31/2024.
Pre-Medicare Retirees: Retiree Coverage for pre-Medicare participants and dependents will expire 12/31/2024. This includes medical coverage, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, and dental and vision if selected. Premium subsidies and Retiree Health Reimbursement Account balances also will expire 12/31/2024. A new premium reimbursement program will be available to qualified pre-Medicare retirees beginning 1/1/2025.
